Edgecumbe uses reputable psychometric tools to create psychological profiles of individuals for assessment and development purposes.
Below is some information about the questionnaires we use, one or more of which you have been invited to complete.
The HPI measures normal personality. Based on the Five-Factor Model (FFM) of personality, it was the first to be developed specifically for use in a business environment. It provides insights into how we typically behave when we are at our best. The FFM measures five broad but discrete themes in personality and has become established as the ‘gold standard’ in personality research and practice because of its superior predictive power.
The HDS looks at how our behaviour may change when we are under pressure, tired, bored or otherwise distracted. This questionnaire offers insights into the kinds of dysfunctional behaviours which may make us more difficult to work with and less likely to succeed under such conditions.
The MVPI measures the values, goals and interests which motivate us. This questionnaire provides insights into the kinds of work and work environment in which we are likely to find satisfaction, and the kind of culture we might create as a leader. It can also help identify potential areas of compatibility and conflict amongst team members.
When completing the questionnaire(s), we strongly recommend that you be honest and try not to think too hard; your first response is likely to be your most natural and therefore accurate one. There are no right or wrong answers, just as there is no perfect or correct personality profile. Some of the questionnaires include scales designed to detect ‘faking’ behaviours, which lead to an invalid administration whose results cannot be interpreted accurately.
