We run open and client-site courses allowing independent consultants and in-house L&D teams to use our globally renowned Primary Colours® Model of Leadership and benchmarked leadership development toolkit to develop high performing leaders themselves.

More about the course

To date, the Primary Colours® Model of Leadership has been used successfully with senior managers and executives from over 1,000 organisations world-wide. A number of global organisations have also adopted the Primary Colours® Model of Leadership as their own internal model, enabling leaders at all levels to understand the specific leadership tasks required to help their teams succeed. These numbers are growing steadily and to enable this growth we provide training and accreditation for independent consultants, small consultancy organisations and HR & L&D professionals within our client organisations, in order for them to use the model and associated toolkit for the assessment and development of individuals and teams.

In-depth training: The course in detail

This one or two-day course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to enable you to use the Primary Colours® Leadership Assessment Toolkit at all leadership levels (including full use of the NEO Personality Inventory).

In order to attend a course you should have previous experience with psychometrics and skills in giving feedback and supporting development, or hold a BPS qualification or equivalent in psychometric test use (Level B/ TUOP), please get in touch if you are unsure of your eligibility.

This course can be run in-house for organisations wanting to train a group of individuals. In these cases we can design the course around the level of qualification of these individuals.

Depending on your level of qualification and experience, you may attend one or both days of our course.

What will I get from the course?

Successful completion of day one will qualify you in the NEO Personality Inventory for use in both selection AND development – the NEO is widely regarded as the gold standard in personality assessment within the clinical and corporate worlds and has been validated by a wealth of academic research. For this reason, it is appropriate for use in selection as well as development.

Completion of day two will lead to the award of accredited user status of the Primary Colours® Leadership Assessment Toolkit. You will also be given access to our online member’s portal, which features presentation slides and marketing materials for the purposes of developing your own client assignments, a resource library, member forums, and support from Primary Colours® psychologists.

Day 1

An intensive and interactive 1-day workshop designed to enable practitioners to use the NEO Personality Inventory, internationally recognised as the gold standard in personality measurement. This first day also enables users of the NEO Primary Colours® Leaders Report to fully understand the NEO dimensions referred to within the report.

Delegates learn through tutorials, group exercises, case studies and practical feedback sessions, how to use the NEO Personality Inventory with confidence.

Objectives of the course:

  • Gain knowledge of NEO’s 30 facets and 5 domains
  • Interpret facet combinations
  • Become familiar with NEO profiles
  • Understand how to feedback NEO profiles

This day can be taken on its own or in conjunction with day 2 which focusses on using NEO for leadership development and equips delegates to use the Primary Colours® Leadership Assessment Toolkit.

Day 2

Day 2 will focus on the application of the NEO Personality Inventory within leadership development using the Primary Colours® Leadership Assessment Toolkit, designed to support individual and team leadership development and coaching activities.

The toolkit includes:

  • Personality assessment – The NEO Primary Colours® Leadership Report
  • 360° feedback – The Primary Colours® Leadership 360°
  • Integrated results from personality and 360 assessments – The Leadership Strengths Matrix
  • Additional materials – Participant reflection guides, coach’s report, team reports and a facilitator’s guidebook

Based on the Primary Colours® Model of Leadership (the proven leadership model we use in our teaching at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School), these tools represent the state of the art in leadership/management assessment and development.
