We were thrilled to be shortlisted for the ‘Best HR/L&D Consultancy’ award at this year’s CIPD awards. Although we didn’t win on the night, it was a great evening and an opportunity to celebrate all the amazing work that is being done in the HR industry. Here’s a recap of the evening and our thoughts on being shortlisted.

The CIPD awards are always a highlight of the HR calendar, and this year was no exception. The awards were held at the Marriott Grosvenor House hotel in Park Lane, and the atmosphere was electric from the start. It was great to catch up with so many familiar faces and chat about all things ‘people’ over drinks and canapés.

The awards ceremony itself was a glamorous affair, with several hundred people in attendance. Hosted by journalist and news reader, Clive Myrie, it was a fun and lively event. Listening to the announcement of an impressive collection of shortlisted companies in the various categories was fascinating and nerve-wracking in equal measure.

Although we didn’t end up winning the award, it was an honour to be nominated alongside some truly amazing companies. The overall winner in our category was The Clear Company, who deservedly took home the trophy. Not forgetting Culture Consultancy, who were highly commended.

All in all, it was a wonderful evening and a great opportunity to reflect on all that we’ve achieved as a company over the past year (and it gave us the chance to relax and enjoy ourselves at the after-party). It was also a reminder of how important it is to keep learning and developing in our field. The competition is tough out there, and we need to make sure we’re constantly raising the bar in order to stay ahead of the curve. We’re already looking forward to next year’s awards and remain hopeful that we will have even more to celebrate then….

Overall, it was a fantastic evening celebrating all things HR. We’d like to congratulate all of the winners and nominees, and thank the CIPD for putting on such a great event. We’ll definitely be back next year to try again.
