Jon Cowell

Executive Chairman

Jon is a practitioner, researcher, teacher and consultant in leadership. His role at Edgecumbe falls into 3 parts. As CEO, he helps to create the conditions for Edgecumbe to thrive. As an Associate Fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, he helps leaders from all over the world to lead better as a programme leader, tutor, action learning set facilitator and coach; his main research interest is in the leadership of Major Projects. With Edgecumbe’s clients he assesses, coaches and develops leadership capability, working with individual leaders, senior teams and whole organisations.

Dr. Megan Joffe

Health Consulting Lead

Megan is an organisational and clinical psychologist who works mainly in the assessment and development of senior people, including doctors. She is particularly interested in how the individual and the system influence one another.

Through her work with NCAS and with clinicians from all over the UK, Megan has become a leading authority in doctors and teams in difficulty.

Her experience extends to the development of leadership teams, leading change, and experiential learning. She is also an executive coach and facilitator.

Megan is an organisational and clinical psychologist who works mainly in the assessment and development of senior people, including doctors. She is particularly interested in how the individual and the system influence one another.

Rebecca Lees

Operations Director

After completing a Master’s Degree at Bristol University, Rebecca joined the business in 2012. Her main focus has been the development of our Doctor 360 toolkit, working with the GMC, RCGP and our partner company Premier IT to deliver a complete appraisal package to NHS Trusts, Primary Care groups and private medical companies. As well as managing the Doctor 360 service Rebecca went on to coordinate our appraisal training courses and gained a Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management in 2014.

Rebecca is now also our Operations Director, working across the whole of the company since June 2016 to advance the sales, marketing and client relationships at Edgecumbe. Rebecca is the main contact for our affiliate network and Primary Colours® in Practice Training Programme.

Sophie Mattholie

Principal Consultant and Head of Development

Sophie is a Consultant at Edgecumbe and has been with us since 2009, working across both our Corporate and Health businesses. Experienced in assessment methodology and psychometrics, Sophie specialises in leadership assessment and development, mainly with middle and senior executives in large, multi-national corporate environments.

Following her first degree in Psychology, Sophie obtained her MSc in Occupational Psychology from the University of Leicester and is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society, holding Level A and B certification in Psychological Testing.

Sophie is passionate about helping leaders develop their potential and has particular research interests in women in leadership.

Ben Vernazza

Principal Consultant and Head of Assessment

Ben is a Chartered Psychologist and joined Edgecumbe in 2021, where he works as a Principal Consultant within the Corporate Consulting practice. He is highly experienced in consulting with clients on leadership assessment and development services having previously worked for several consultancies including Saville Consulting and OPP/The Myers Briggs Company.

Ben works at all levels with public and private sector clients and his core focus is to provide bespoke consultancy solutions that impact individual, team and organisational performance. His principal experience includes the design and delivery of assessment and development processes, leadership development, coaching, team development and the application of psychometrics. He is a skilled coach and facilitator, equipped to use a wide range of tools and techniques when supporting leaders to harness their strengths, uncover their blindspots and develop to reach their potential.

Ben is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a Registered Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council and holds an EMCC accredited coaching qualification. He is qualified to use an extensive range of psychometrics to support his practice.

Patrick Kelly

Principal Consultant and Head of Research & Analytics
Patrick joined us in August 2016 as a Masters graduate in the field of Psychology. His role involves liaising with participants, providing day-to-day support, data analysis and assisting with administration of surveys.

Patrick has been active in the field throughout his studies; delivering psychology based teaching sessions to Sports teams such as Bristol Rovers Football Academy, Bristol Rugby and various Sports colleges. He has also assisted and run a number of research projects at the University of the West of England. Meaning Patrick comes bearing a cocktail of fresh experience, hunger to put psychological theory into practice and is driven to continue expanding his research repertoire.

Patrick is a principal consultant and has been with us since 2016 working across our corporate and health businesses. Patrick has a current focus on employee engagement, recruitment assessment and organisational research that helps provide essential, actionable insight to help your people.

He has an academic background in psychology holding a BSc in Psychology and MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology. Patrick is also an experienced user of psychometric assessments; holds Level A and B certification in psychological testing and is a certified user of Hogrefe’s NEO and the Hogan assessments.

Patrick is passionate about exploring links across sport and occupational psychology to help optimise personal development, performance and well-being.

Jo Summers

Head of Client Project Delivery
Jo joined our Project Management team in June 2015. Her role involves organising and controlling project activities for employee research projects, as well as leadership development programmes. Prior to working with us, Jo has a wealth of Project and Event Management experience working in a number of different industry sectors within similar roles.

Jo is very enthusiastic and committed to building on her skills, recently achieving her APM Certificate in Project Management. She has a first class honours degree in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration.

Johannah Palmer

Business Manager
Johannah joined the company in 2016 and is an experienced Office Manager, responsible for carrying out a wide range of management and administrative tasks to enable and support the smooth and safe running of the business.

Johannah is also part of the Project Client Coordinator Team and provides support to our corporate business for leadership development programmes and employee engagement research.

Johannah has been with Edgecumbe for over seven years and has recently been promoted into the Business Manager role, with responsibilities in information security, data protection, governance, compliance, human resources, finance and office management. She has a passion for data protection and information security and has worked closely with the Edgecumbe senior leadership team on these areas for the last six years, fulfilling the roles of Information Security Administrator and Data Protection Officer. She is also a certified GDPR practitioner. Her latest promotion has seen her role expand to include additional finance and human resource duties and also relinquish her line manager responsibilities for the Doctor 360 team.

Victoria Newland

Consultant
Nick Clark is a highly experienced facilitator and executive coach with almost two decades of experience in improving the effectiveness of managers and leaders across a range of private and public sector organizations.

After beginning his career in advertising, Nick worked as a freelance writer and training designer before switching direction to focus on strengths-based assessment and selection, leadership development and coaching.

As a Chartered Psychologist, APECS Accredited Executive Coach and Accredited Practitioner in Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Nick possesses a deep understanding of the cultural and behavioural issues surrounding organizational change. He works with public and private sector clients at all levels to enhance their personal performance and professional effectiveness, to develop the attitudes and behaviours needed to lead more effectively, and to boost levels of well being and enjoyment at work.

His coaching style is positive and constructive, and he brings high levels of energy, creativity and flexibility to his work. His focus is on creating open and supportive relationships within which clients can explore and test out more effective ways of thinking, feeling and behaving; clients describe him as highly supportive, reflective, positive and challenging.

Nick has coached and facilitated extensively across a number of sectors including Professional Services, Financial Services, Media, Pharmaceuticals, Engineering and Manufacturing.

A member of the British Psychological Society and Association of Business Psychologists, Nick obtained an MSc in Occupational Psychology from University of London, and a BSc in Psychology from the University of Manchester. He holds BPS Level A and Level B (Intermediate) qualifications in the use of psychometric instruments, and is an accredited user of a wide range of tests including the Hogan suite, NEO, OPQ32, and Firo Element B.

Victoria is a consultant at Edgecumbe and joined us in September 2021 working across our corporate business, she supports the delivery of organisational research. Victoria has a current focus on employee engagement, assessment, and organisational research, providing actionable insights to help organisations and the people within them thrive.

Victoria has an academic background in Leadership and Psychology, holding a BA (Hons) in Leadership and Management and two master’s degrees in psychology and Occupational Psychology. She is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society holding level A and B certification in psychological testing and Associate member of the CIPD. Victoria has worked in business operations, HR and organisational development across multiple sectors and also within an Occupational Health Consultancy specialising in mental health in the workplace. She holds a keen interest in wellbeing in the workplace incorporating evidence-based research techniques to make a real difference.

Amelia Lafratta

Consultant

Amelia is a Junior Consultant at Edgecumbe and has joined us in 2021. Working across our Corporate and Health businesses, she supports the delivery of surveys and consulting projects.

Amelia has an academic background in Philosophy and Psychology, holding a BA in Philosophy with Psychology from the University of Warwick and an MSc in Experimental Psychology from the University of Bristol. She is also a Motivational Maps Licensed Practitioner for adults, teams and young people and a Neuro-Agility Licensed Practitioner.

She is passionate about employee engagement and how it affects individuals’ wellbeing.

Amelia is a business psychologist and coach. She joined Edgecumbe as a consultant in 2021 and works predominantly with the Research & Analytics team to deliver employee engagement and organisational research projects for clients from a range of industries, from retail to financial services and logistics. Amelia also helps to assess leaders using psychometric tools, such as personality assessments and 360-degree feedback.

Holding a BA (Hons) in Philosophy with Psychology and an MSc in Experimental Psychology, Amelia helps clients design questionnaires informed by the latest thinking in psychology to collect meaningful data and turn it into insightful reports. Amelia uses goal-setting and coaching methods to support organisations to move from data-driven strategies into action to improve engagement, wellbeing and inclusion.

Georgia Feltham

Doctor 360 Service Manager
Georgia joined Edgecumbe in 2013 after completing her A-levels in Bristol. Georgia started with us as an assistant working on data entry for our Doctor 360 and has since progressed to Senior Client Coordinator focussing on supporting our Doctor 360 clients and improving our tools and processing within our Health Services department. Georgia is Edgecumbe’s champion typist, averaging about a thousand words per minute (or at least it sounds like it)!

Summer Bolitho

Client Service Coordinator

Summer joined Edgecumbe in October 2021. Although graduating with a degree in Music Business at the British Institute of Modern Music in Bristol, Summer is passionate about the work that Edgecumbe provides for their clients and enjoys being part of the dedicated Doctor 360 team. Her role includes administering and enabling support for GP’s and doctors within the feedback service as part of their revalidation.

Ellen Dacombe

Product Owner | Doctor 360

Ellen joined the company in 2021 and, alongside Georgia, coordinates the health assessment services. Her role is dedicated to supporting the Doctor360 team members, clients, GPs, and doctors. She focuses on ensuring the smooth delivery of Edgecumbe’s health service whilst striving to improve the infrastructure and internal processes of Doctor360. Ellen achieved a BA in English and Education from Cardiff Metropolitan in 2016.

Josh Fletcher

Client Project Assistant
Josh became a part of Edgecumbe in July 2019. His work is split between both the Doctor 360 and the Primary Colours 360 teams where he performs various administrative duties.

These include, supporting doctors and GP’s with the Doctor 360 team to help them through the feedback area of their revalidations, and general overseeing and support of the psychometrics and 360s run by the Primary Colours side of Edgecumbe.

Josh joined the Edgecumbe team in July 2019 and now works as part of the client project delivery team. His duties include overseeing and supporting 360 surveys and psychometric assessments, and generating reports using data gathered from our tools. Josh is also the main point of contact for Edgecumbe affiliates, managing and delivering their project requirements.

Beth joined Edgecumbe in 2019, after graduating with a BA in History of Art from the University of Manchester. As a Client Support Assistant, her role focusses on administering and providing support to clients across the health and corporate services.

Sarah Sansom

Finance Director
Sarah holds a degree in economics from York University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant, with over 15 years’ experience of working within the SME sector. Sarah joined Edgecumbe in April 2019 and has overall responsibility of the finance department.

Kat Newman

Internal Project Manager
Kat joined Edgecumbe in 2018 and manages our internal projects. Kat is passionate about project delivery and brings a broad range of project and events management experience having worked with consumer brands, B2B organisations and not-for-profits.

Mel Hacker

Client Project Manager and PA to Directors
Mel is one of the team’s longest standing members, having joined us in 2006. Since then, Mel has been supporting our employee engagement, leadership development and training projects, providing co-ordination, client communication and document production.

Mel manages Edgecumbe’s work with Oxford Saiid Business School, ensuring our consultant’s sessions run smoothly.

Jeremy Greaves

Chief Marketing Officer
Jeremy has a wealth of experience in B2B marketing spanning 30 years. Jeremy works part time for Edgecumbe and also runs his own award-winning marketing agency based in Bristol. Jeremy’s role at Edgecumbe is to develop and implement the business strategy and work closely with the marketing manager to align marketing with the overall objectives of the company.

Jeremy has a wealth of experience in B2B marketing spanning 30 years. Jeremy works part time for Edgecumbe and also runs his own award-winning marketing agency based in Bristol. Jeremy’s role at Edgecumbe is to develop and implement the business strategy and work closely with the marketing manager to align marketing with the overall objectives of the company.

Mark is a Technical Consultant with 20 years’ experience working in the technology industry. He has acted as Edgecumbe’s CTO since 2016, providing oversight of our technical infrastructure and Cyber Security, as well as assisting in the design and implementation of new systems. He works closely with both our customers and our technology partners to ensure that we have the systems and the processes in place to provide and smooth, effective and above all secure service.

Dr. Jenny King

Special Advisor
Jenny is a co-Founder of Edgecumbe Consulting and the former Director and Practice Lead for Edgecumbe Health. Jenny has over 35 years’ experience as an Occupational Psychologist, assessing, developing and training leaders in a wide range of organisations and sectors. For most of her career, she specialized in working with doctors and clinical teams across the NHS, contributing to the development of national assessment methods for medical doctors. In 2018 she was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners.

Jenny remains an Affiliate of Edgecumbe after retiring from the Company in 2015. After gaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Executive Coaching from Ashridge Business School, she now works almost exclusively as a coach, with a variety of senior managers and Executives from the health, corporate and voluntary sectors. She is also a Lay Reviewer for the Royal College of Surgeons’ Invited Review Mechanism.

Jenny is a co-founder of Edgecumbe Consulting and the former Director and Practice Lead for Edgecumbe Health. Jenny has over 30 years’ experience of assessing, developing and training leaders in a wide range of organisations and sectors. In 2018 she was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners.

David is Professor in Leadership at Henley Business School. He is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, of Oxford University’s Saïd Business School. Educated at Nottingham and Oxford Universities, David is a Chartered Psychologist with over 30 years’ experience of working to develop the effectiveness of individuals, teams and organisations.

David, a co-founder of the Edgecumbe Group, has worked in most organisational sectors and on five continents. He specialises in the assessment and development of leaders and leadership. David’s ideas have been captured in several books of which two are particularly well-known. In the field of leadership, he has most recently published, with Prof Adrian Furnham of UCL, Leadership: all you need to know (first published by Palgrave Macmillan 2012, second edition 2016). In this book he describes the evolution of the Primary Colours ® Model of Leadership, its four propositions and their relevance to the leadership of 21st century organisations.

Earlier in his career, in the field of medical communication, he published The Consultation jointly with Theo Schofield, Peter Tate and Peter Havelock (first published by Oxford University Press in 1983, all new edition published 2003). This book won the 2011 Lynn Payer Award of the American Academy on Communication in Healthcare and is often cited as the source of a task based approach to consulting with patients and of the eponymous ‘Pendleton Rules’ for feedback. In the field of healthcare, David is an experienced consultant. He was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 1997 and is now a member of their Trustee Board.

Caroline Taplin

Caroline is a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has over 20 years Human Resources and Organisational Development experience both within the private and public sectors, much of it in the NHS.

Caroline is an expert in medical appraisal and has extensive experience of appraiser training, multi-source feedback, quality assurance of appraisal systems and consulting on appraisal strategy.

Mandy holds an MSc in occupational psychology and is a chartered member of the CIPD. Having begun her corporate career in human resources she moved to consultancy and has over 15 years’ experience specialising in the design and delivery of assessment and development centres for public and private sector clients.

With a keen interest and breadth of experience in assessment methodology and psychometrics, she has a particular focus on designing quality driven solutions that are bespoke to client needs and which put the candidate and participant experience at the heart of this, managing difficult situations sensitively and flexibly.

Joy Palfery

Associate Consultant

Joy is widely respected chartered psychologist who enjoys helping to find a better fit between people and work. She works with individuals and teams to help them identify the right people to fill gaps and both facilitates groups and coaches individuals to enable them to be the best they can be. She works internationally with clients like Allianz, Anglo American, Borealis, BP, Heathrow, Janssen, Marks and Spencer, Old Mutual Wealth, Rolls Royce, RBS and Vodafone.

She has also assessed entire teams on behalf of private equity firms for Management Due Diligence exercises prior to acquisition or investment. She is qualified to use a wide range of psychometric instruments, including Cognitive Process Profile, NEO-PI, 16PF5, MBTI Steps I & II and Wave.

Additionally Caroline holds a Diploma in Leadership Coaching from the Institute of Leadership and Management and a Certificate in Counselling Skills from the Spectrum Centre for Humanistic Psychotherapy. She is an experienced coach, who works on leadership development programmes at Saïd Business School, Oxford University.
